नेपालले अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय क्रिकेट परिषद आईसीसीको ४ बर्षको लागि अस्थायी एकदिवसीय राष्ट्रको मान्यता पाउने निश्चित भएको छ। आईसीसी बिश्व कप छनौटको प्ले-अफमा पपुवा न्यु गिनीलाई पराजित गरेको नेपाललाई मान्यता प्राप्त गर्न आजकै अर्को खेलमा हंगकंगले नेदरल्याण्डसंग हार्नु पर्थ्यो। नेपालले चाहेको जस्तै भयो र नेदरल्याण्डसंग हंगकंग पराजित हुँदा नेपालले पहिलो पटक एकदिवसीय अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय राष्ट्रको मान्यता पाउने निश्चित भयो। नेदरल्याण्डले पहिले ब्याटिंग गर्दै १७४ रन बनाएपछि लक्ष्य पछ्याउने क्रममा हंगकंगले १३० रनमै सम्पूर्ण विकेट गुमाएसंगै नेपाल एकदिवसीय राष्ट्र हुने भएको हो।

पहिलो पटक एकदिवसीय राष्ट्रको मान्यता पाएपछी नेपाली क्रिकेट टिमलाई बिश्वभरबाट बधाईको ओइरो आएको छ भने कप्तान पारस खड्काले सम्पूर्ण नेपाली क्रिकेटका समर्थकहरुलाई धन्यवाद दिएका छन्। एकदिवसीय मान्यता पाएपछि पढ्नुस कसले के भने –
