Nepal ended off their T20 cricket World Cup for the blind on a winning note as they crushed New Zealand by 141 runs in the last match at Karnataka State Cricket Ground in Alur on Thursday.
Invited to bat first, Nepal posted a enormous target of 316 runs, thanks to blistering knocks from openers Padam Bahadur Badaila (211*) from 90 balls with the help of 36 boundaries and Sovaram Dangi (53*)
Chasing a huge target , New Zealand failed to counter Nepalese bowling attack as they were restricted to just 174 runs for the loss of all wickets in their stipulated 20 overs.
While Sunil Subedi Chhetri scalped two wickets, Badri Chaulagain, Bikram Bahadur Rana and Kritan Shrestha Duwal all chipped in with a wicket each
Padam Bahadur Badaila was declared man of the match for his brilliant contribution with bat.
Nepal ended the tournament on 8th position of the points table with two win form nine matches.Nepal had lost 5 matches in a row after they defeated South Africa in their 3rd match of the event. Today’s win over New Zealand helped Nepal to take some positives from the ongoing Blind Cricket World Cup being held in India.
Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, and England have entered into semi final of tournament. Defending champions India will be facing Sri Lanka in the first Semi Final whereas table topper Pakistan will be facing England in the Semi’s.
Final will be played on 12th of February, Sunday.
