Pentagon International College and Kaustuv Academy won their third match in a row and booked a spot in the quarter finals of the Inter College Super Cup, being played at Ultimate Indoor Cricket’s indoor cricket court in Kathmandu. With wins in all their league matches both Pentagon and Kaustuv qualify as group winners.
In Group A Kaustuv Academy defeated Sudurpaschimancal Academy(SPA) by 57 runs. SPA playing their first match of the tournament posted 22 runs, the lowest total in the tournament, in their 12. Prakash Bista bagged 5 wickets to restrict SPA to a small total. This was Bista’s second five wicket haul of the tournament. Kaustuv in reply scored 79 runs in their 12 overs. Bista who also made 17 runs with the bat was adjudged the player of the match.
In the group B Pentagon defeated Heartland by 56 runs. Batting first Heartland posted 29 runs. In Pentagon posted 85 runs in their 12 over. Naresh Budhayer who scored 15 runs and bagged two wickets for Pentagon was adjudged the player of the match.
Earlier in the day Heartland playing their first match of the tounament had defeated Himalaya College of Engineering by 6 runs. Heartland posted 72 runs and restricted HCOE to 66 in the 12 over match. Heartland Avinash Adhikari who bagged 4 wickets and scored 17 runs was declared the player of the match.
With one win in two matches Heartland are in second position in the Group B table. HCOE and Rajshree Janak of Group B are yet to win any matches.
Amrit Science Campus(ASCOL) registered two win in the two matches they played today. ASCOL(94) first brushed aside Silk Road(83) by 11 runs in their first match of the day thanks to 23 runs and 3 wickets from player of the match Shankar Bhatt. In the other group C match played today ASCOL defeated Institute of Medicine by 22 runs. Batting first IoM posted 66 runs in their 12 overs. ASCOL in reply managed 88 runs in 12 over. Paurakh Babu Bogati who top scored for ASCOL with 19 runs and 2 wickets.
ASCOL are on top of group C points table with 2 wins. IOM who also have 2 wins are second owing to lower Net Run Rate. ASCOL now face Trition, who have 1 win from 2 matches, in the last league game.
In the only Group D match played today Samriddhi registered last ball victory over NOVA. Needing 7 runs to win from the last ball Kaushal Pokherel smashed a six and ran two physical runs to take Samriddhi to an emphatic 2 run victory. Pokherel scored 18 runs as Samriddhi chased the 79 run target set by NOVA.
