Nepal faced their fourth defeat, second in a row, in the ongoing Blind T20 World Cup at hands of West Indies.
In the match played at Mumbai MIC Ground, Nepal won the toss invited West Indies to bat first. West Indies scored 208 runs losing 8 wickets. Opener Kevin Andrew Douglas top scored for West Indies with 96 runs off 59 balls. He added 52 runs for first wicket with Leroy Orin Phillips(23* ) and 89 runs for the second wicket with Caneel Wayney Graham(27* retired). Kevin unlucky not to get a hundred getting run out in the 18th over. George Lee Stewart contributed with run a ball 10 runs. None of the other West Indies batsman crossed double figures.
Sunil Thapa Magar, Ramesh Baniya, Bikram Bahadur Rana, Padam Badaila each bagged one wicket for Nepal.
In reply Nepal were restricted for 165/3 wicets handing 43 run victory to West Indies. Sunil Thapa Magar top scored for Nepal with unbeaten 70 runs from 50 balls. The fourt wicket partnership between Magar and Lok Bahadur Thapa(36*) added 95 runs for Nepal in 10.4 overs. Sunil Rana Magar contributed with 25 runs.
Ganesh Mitra Sing, Anthony Fitzgerald Cummins got one wicket a piece for West Indies.
Having lost previous three matches in a row this was West Indies’ first win of the tournament.
Nepal will face Sri Lanka tomorrow at Pune PYC Ground.
